JD 2210
I'd appreciate any help ya'll might have to offer. My JD 2210 (FEL, 62" MMM, rear 4' Bush hog blade) has served me wonderfully on my 5 acre horse property in Tidewater (that means flat) Virginia, but now I'm moving to 13 acres in the hills of WV. My farm will be on the side of a hill and I'll only be doing rough cut (I'm not into lawns all that much) over some rather uneven, hilly pastures. I'll of course need a loader and some kind of blade on the other end, along with a rough cut mower attachment on the back. It appears I need one of the 3x20's. Anyone have any thoughts?? (Yes, I've read all the posts. It sounds like a 3320 or 3350 would work, but I'd like your input). Thanks -- John

I can't speak to your needs, or what I think you should do. But I am thinking pretty hard about the 3520 (think that is what you meant to put in your post too) ovr the 3320. Just a few more HP in the shorts (37 over 32.5).

My only negative concern right at the moment is the foldable ROPS and there is not a choice or option, near as I can tell. It stands 91.8" and my new garage doors are at 88". Not a pleasant thought.

Good luck on your decision making chore. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I hate it when my proofreading skills are as bad as my typing -- 3520!!

I have a fixed ROPS on my 2210 which I'm continually wishing was a little more foldable when I'm around all my current trees. Like you, the 3520 looks awfully appealing. Thanks!

I just took delivery of a new 3320 today. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif This is to replace my trusty Ford 861 five speed. It took me awhile to get the balast box off - paint on the pins. But I hooked up my 6' finish mower and gave it a whirl. Cut thru 2' high fescue like butter.

Now that I've used the HST for a couple of hours, I can't believe there is a debate over which is better. The HST is so much easier and quicker than the gears. Sweeeeeet! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I didn't think I needed the turbo. But I did opt for the extra three HP over the 3120 for the money.

I don't think you will be dissapointed in any of the 3x20 tractors.

Steve

Hey WV. Welcome to the forum.
How long have you had your 2210? How many hours.
The reason I ask, last fall I thught of trading up to a 4115. Trade in shock detered me from that! If yu do trade would you mind telling trade in value?

2210, 210FEL, 54C MMM, with 50 hours (no 50 hour service) = $10,000

I'm in a similar situation. I have had a 2210 for a year and it is a great machine. I am moving to a larger property which has caused my needs to change. I started looking at a 3320 or 3520 and quickly leaned to the 3520 due to only a small price increase for more turbo hp. After doing some serious pricing around, I found a dealer who priced me a 3720 for only slightly more than the others wanted for a 3520. So I"m going with the 3720.
As for the ROPS height, the Deere brochure shows a folded height of 69.4 inches with an extended height of 83.7 inches.

Good luck with your decision !

Thanks for the inputs thus far. It's always nice when people are suggesting the direction I thought I needed to go anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I've got the JD guy coming out early next week to take a look at the 2210 to give me an estimate and I'll post the offer then. I've only got 40 hours on it!! -- I hadn't planned to be moving, obviously. With the trade-in Fargo indicated, I'm thinking I'd be better off on ebay -- just saw one similar to my configuration go for $13K (of course location is everything!).

Congrats on the 3320, Steve!! Any hills out where you are? I was a little concerned on performance pulling a 6' bushhog on the back up my hills.
