I'm seriously considering trading my 2005 BX1500, 1200 hrs, with 48" mmm and LA181 FEL for a new BX25D TLB with 60" mmm, mechanical thumb, 12" bucket, 3 ph kit, std ROPS mount lights, block heater, and loaded rear tires. The BX1500 is in good condition, and everything has always been stored inside. It would be a cash deal, so I'm eligible for $1200 in rebates. I have two questions. 1) What would be a good price on this deal? 2) How easy/difficult is it to switch between the 3ph and the hoe?

As for #2, it takes me all of ten minutes maybe. Just make sure to drop bh on flat ground. I switch back and forth probably 6-10 times a year and hasn't been a big deal.

Thanks, RAECOREP. I would be storing it in the garage on concrete floor. Does it store with the stabilizers up or down? How much space does it take up side to side when stored?

If you want to store it for any amount of time, I would build or buy a rolling cart to put it on. I made mine and store with o.r. up (you have to run a strap from one to other or they will drift down over time. Foot print about 3'x6'. I believe B-Xpanded sells dollies for b.h.

I would build the tractor on Kubotas website like you want it and see how that price compares to what they quoted you on the new tractor. At a miniumun you should get 10% off that price. As far as the trade I don't have a clue what they will give you. Here are some comparable tractors for you to get a idea on price. Keep in mind it won't be worth as much on a trade.

You will proabably get your best deal if you sell your tractor yourself and buy the tractor straight out. There will be less room for them to mess with the numbers.

What's a JD820, Mower? Maybe keep the BX1500 for mowing and 3ph work and the BX25 for tractoring and sell the JD820.
Contact Barlows about a trade and see how your local dealers appreciate you and your business.
I normally trade in to dealer to save the Ky sales tax since I'm not a farmer but the BX1500 should sell pretty well for a decent price which you can determine after getting trade in figures.
Had a BX1500 for 3 years and it was my most stable hillside tractor/mower but with no fel. Had a BX25 and it was my favorite all around Kubota tractor that I've owned and may have another one some day.:)

I did that, but I didn't ask for a price on a straight sale, so the trade allowance is included in the quote (I know, I messed that up). Assuming a $5,000 private party sale value for the bx1500, the best offer I got was about 13% off list price, which I think is pretty good, assuming I have the value of the bx1500 right.

I did check tractor house, but those are asking prices. Hard to tell what they would actually sell for. I also checked ebay. I only found one bx1500 that was actually sold. It had a mower, but no loader, and only 400 hrs. Sold for $3800. Based on that, as well as some other sales of other model bx's on ebay, I'm thinking a value of $5000 for my trade is fair.

As for selling the bx1500 myself, I've tried that before. It never really seems to work out for me for some reason. Plus, I would start out 6% in the hole because of the sales tax.

It sounds like they are treating you fairly.
