Trading Up, what to do with BX2660?

All good advice and as mentioned a balance between money and convenience. My dealer will gladly take them in on trade as he is able to quickly turn them or he offered to sell mine on consignment. I have no desire to haggle with or be bothered by a bunch of tire kickers or curious people to make a few extra bucks, did it once and wanted to strangle a couple of people, so I let my dealer handle it.

I'll echo the sales tax bit. We generally make about 10%, with sales tax at 6% your only profiting an extra 4%... probably not worth the headache.

thats us anyway.

Shop around. I wanted to trade a JD X740 with 250-300 hours on it because the 4 year warranty was just lapsed. I shopped at 3-4 dealers and all would give me $6000 for it on an almost identical trade on a $12,000 tractor. That equates to +$20 an hour to run a garden tractor. Seemed kind of nutso.

Then one afternoon I stopped at another dealer a little farther away and he would charge $2500 to boot. That is a huge difference.

I traded, but if it was for the other previous choices I would have just kept it forever.
