I am looking at maybe buying some property where I would need to build trails etc. so I was doing a bit of research this morning. I ran across this site:
Forest Service Publications List - Recreational Trails Publications - FHWA
which has a pile of USFS publications and you can also order some videos etc. on trail building.
Couple of interesting things I found in there:
center dump trailer for ATV (or tractor) Trail Tailor -- Bob Gervais (this ones got me thinking
)
One of the pubs "ATV Utility and Gravel Trailer" says you can order plans for their end dump with spreader gate. Another has a 'Trail Rake' that could be adapted to making a grader blade etc. Plans also available.
"Mechanized Trail Equipment" has info on a small rock crusher you can use right on the trail
