Just curious what type and size of trailer you have for your DK40 45, or 50 w/ FEEL? I like the dual axle tilt trailer but they are quite expensive new. And what size truck are you pulling the trailer/tractor? Electric brakes?

I would highly recommend a 20ft dual axle equipment trailer. I made the mistake of getting an 18ft'er and kick myself every time I load it up. This is a long machine with the loader and you can't get the tongue weight right on a shorter trailer. If you need to move it with rotary cutter a 22ft is necessary. Don't skimp on the weight rating either. These are heavy machines you are looking at 4500lbs plus implements. I would recommend a minimum of a 10,000lb trailer. They are usually good for 7500lbs of equipment. This puts you into a 3/4 ton truck for regular pulling. You can get away with some of the newer 1/2 ton trucks that are rated for 10,000lbs. Just make sure you have a tow package or equivalent and brake controller. I would also recommend a weight distributing especially if you are using a smaller truck. With the length and weight it makes for a much smoother tow. Good luck have fun an most of all be safe it's a lot of equipment to be dragging around.

how much hauling? if its regularly, I agree, if it's only occasional, once or twice a year, use a tacoma with a tow package and drive slow. That's what i do. :)

18Ft would be a little cheaper. There was mention that you can not transport tractor and bush hog on a trailer less than 22ft. My friend built his own 18ft trailer using mobil home axles rated a 6k lbs each. He transports his DK35 tiller attached and brush hog all at once. He attaches the brush hog to the FEL by chain and places it at the absolute front of the trailer. He then drives onto the trailer and rests the bucket on top of the cutter. His ramps just barley flip up with enough clearence. This works for him. But as someone else posted if your going to be transporting it more than a few times a year you may want something bigger.

My DK50 fits perfect on my 18' 10K with a Gannon roller box blade on the back and FEL. I agree on the 10K min weight, I am at about 7500 and would not want anymore for tire loading. My 1/2 ton pulls it ok but do not do it without brakes on the trailer. CJ

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I'm glad I asked as I would have probably opted for something too small. Now, I am stuck between buying a tiller or a trailer next.
