trailer specs for my new ck30

I would get 10 D-rings for that length trailer if it were me. Also if it is the landscape stle with sides, I would recommend the expanded metal option. I had that put on my old 10' one and it was very hand for keeping things in the trailer as well as hooking bungee cords to tie down light stuff.

Consider a spare as well.

Good luck with your purchase. I just bought a 16' a couple weeks ago as my 10' was too small.

Longer ramps, brakes on both axles, add more stake pockets (cheaper than d-rings and will work) Will they add a rub rail across the stake pockets? That way you can tie off most anything anywhere.
The longer ramps and brakes on both are for when you end up moving everybody else's stuff /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Oh, you have a truck and a trailer?

Ok, so far I've come up with:

18' carhauler
5' ramps
dovetail
extra stake pockets (3 extra on each side??)
a chain bin on the tongue
spare tire
elect brakes
verify a wrap-around tongue

Anything else? Keep in mind, I'm not a welder. Yet...

Don't forget chains and chain binders, get the ratcheting type of binders for ease of use, and they stay connected better and won't whop your arm when you remove them!

john; May I add that the tie down chains be Grade 70 transport chain, and US made? And be sure the binders are too? Also, don't use them for anything else like dragging logs or unsticking another vehicle. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If your looking for new binders, I just bought a set of these Quikbinders by SCC SCC Quikbinder

I bought mine on EBAY from the seller Cargosupply out of Oregon. I bought 4 for $96+ shipping. Cargosupply Auction on Ebay

They are very nice being able to free spin them to take up slack quickly or loosen quickly. The handle also folds over so you can put a lock on to help detour theft as well as lock the latch in the tighten position.

Here's a picture of one of mine.

Those are nice binders. I don't have the fold over on mine, but it's not a problem. I can free spin them though for quick tightening/loosening.

Yeah I have just gotten them, so I don't have experience with them yet other than tying down this 1st time. Hopefully they will hold up well. I really like the free spinning as the black part of the handle is textured and easy to grip.

I will be using them pretty much every weekend this Summer though as I will be towing about 180 miles a week to mow the lake property as well /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Selling my old Cub and already sold my old Snapper so it's just the Kubota for yard duties soon!
