I am thinking of putting down some more CA6 rock to store my 3 trailers and some attachments on. Do you all think I should do this up close to my storage building where I can light it up at night or put it farther off the road at the back of the property with no power, lights, etc?? I cannot see the back side of my property from the house or the road because it drops off several feet.

I personaly think it should be up close the house and barn lit up like daylight to discourage theft but I have had some people tell me to put it out back because people can't see it at night, but I say they could scope it out in the daytime anyway and come back at night.

How you all secure your trailers?? I have padlocks on all couplers. I was thinking of pouring an anchor in concrete to chain the hitch down.

Thanks

John

I think out of sight out of mind. I keep usually keep my 16ft in the garage but now I cant becuase other stuff is taking up the space. Now I park it behind the garage padlock on the coupler and have the bush hog parked in front of it so no one can just back up, hook up and take off with it.
I prefer to keep it close as to still be able to see it, but not necessarily have it lit up.

I'm an out-of-sight, out-of-mind kind of guy, works in my neighborhood. Kind of dependent upon variables such as local vs non-local traffic and amount of it, and just how secure "things" are in your community in general.

Around here there has been cases of 4 wheelers, tractors, trailers, ect, you name it disapear even out of locked barns, machine sheds, or in the timber.

I am still not sure the best way to go about this. If I had the money I would put up another pole barn to store the 3 trailers and implements in.

Then put them where you want, lock them up, take pics to document due diligence, and insure.
