trailer tie downs

finally got a trailer, now i don't have to road my machine everywhere. was wondering what everyone uses for tie downs on the trailer. i've seen people w/ the big yellow straps, but was thinking of going w/ some of the heavier duty type chain ratchet. they seem to be safer and won't fray as they get older. thanks for any info

I've got some of those small ratchet straps that I use for light loads, and even a riding mower, but for the tractor, I always used 3/8" chains.

I agree with Bird and use 3/8" chain. One at each corner with ratchet binders. Blocked tractor wheels. The yellow ratchet straps are good for lighter wieght items that need to be secured but definetely chains on the tractor.
