Ok I'm going trailer shopping with hopes I can find one I have a B7510hsd with backhoe any idea's on the length I need and will my truck haul it ok I have a Dodge Dakota with the v8 and the trailer pakage rated at towing 5500# ??
John Deere 1025r with 120r front end loader, Hustler zero turn mower
Tractor Data .com says your tractor weighs about 1367lbs. Don't know the weight of your BH. do you have a front end loader? Tires loaded?
I think you will probably be fine with a twin axle 7K trailer (16')but you may want to check your local regs about matching trailer capacity with towing capacity.
I have a B7610 HST with FEL and have hauled it all over the place on a 16' double axle trailer, brakes on all four wheels, with a V8 Dakota. All I do different from normal driving is lock out the overdrive, otherwise it shifts too much.
16' is just enough with the BH and FEL both mounted. Any larger tractor and it would not be enough. If you don't expect to upgrade anytime soon then the 16' will be good, otherwise you might want to consider 18'. Always have brakes on anything bigger than a light utility trailer IMO.
My 16 footer (7000lbs) works great for my tractor with BH and FEL. Total weight of T+L+B = 2800lbs.
I park the Box blade on the front under the FEL bucket.
My Dakota has manual so I don't have to worry about overdrive.
I find the brakes on the flatdeck trailer don't feel as effective as those on my FIfth wheel trailer.
I don't go any longer because the 18' would put me over the Max 40' total for some of the ferries around here.
Thanks guys I stopped by today and checked them out the wife says get the 18' I won't be upgrading tractors this is all I will need I went over kill when I bought it!! Now to decide if I want dove tail or tilt she says it's up to me??? Sugestions???
I found the dovetail or tilt option added a big chunk to the price tag. Since I'm not using it every day I went for the slide out ramps.
One thing that is a pain is my Backhoe drags going on/off because the ramps are too steep. The rental I tried before was like that too.
I plan on some 2x12 pads under the ramps to get the back wheels up that extra bit before i get to the ramp itself.
My 16 footer will hold my 7510 with the FEL and RB on. The RB drags so I built some ramp extensions. Makes for a more gentle angle for loading too.
BTW I use the ramps and extensions to remove and sharpen the MMM blades. Just drive up to the edge of the deck then lock and chock the wheels. Full access to the underside of the MMM.
Thanks for the replies I can get the dove tail for $100 more but the tilt is $600 more The dealer says you loose clearence which makes sense with the dove tail but I won't be useing this trailer often either and I don't believe the clearance will be an issue!??
Do you guys with the Dakota's use the load leveling hitch???? I was hopeing not to need one with the tandem trailer and the BH on the rear should take most of the weight off the front??
