I will be taking the trek to Tazewell in two weeks for assimilation and training. Resistance is futile!

Can anyone describe the training sessions at Powertrac? Is it done in a classroom setting or "in the shop" sort of informal thing. Has any one tried to video record these sessions. I know they prevent taking photos of the factory line, but having videos of their training sessions for future reference would be to their advantage, not to mention our benefit.

I was really impressed with the Ventrac operation and maintenance videos on YouTube.

Don't get your hopes up too high. I never saw any classroom. Their show room is really nice though, much better than the website. It is cool that you can pretty much test drive any attachment they have, and take as much time as you want in doing so.

Think of it as more of a test drive with coaching.

They were very helpful, sent two guys out with me to the back 40, gave me a few tips on how to mow and turned me loose.

We then came back and tried out a few toys, I mean attachments, and then went over maintenance. I wrote a trip report on this site, if you are interested.

Have fun!

All the best,

Peter

We spent about two hours going over the maintenance. I did not ask how to operate the attachments (although they will certainly let you). Since I was going to do the maintenance myself, I thought that was more important. This was in 2000 so things may have changed.

In '07 I went up specifically to check out the 425 and a half dozen or so attachments. I ended up getting the brush cutter, bucket-hoe, forks, and LMB on the 1st order. Have since purchased the cement mixer and auger.

The visit and trying the equipment it what convinced me to pull the trigger on it. The machine controls are fairly intuitive--I picked up very quickly how to change attachments and play in the dirt and gravel.

3 1/2 years later I'm still very happy with the tractor because of the versatility/uniqueness.
