Hi there, My ordered workshop manual is still in the post. I need to know where the exact filling points for the tranny and diff on my Ford 4110, 2WD 1988 model are. Are the points in the pics correct? The filling point for the tranny seems to have a breather button on it?? The diff seems to be accessible via 2 points as indicated? Anything about the planned drain and fill of both the tranny and diff I need to consider. I'm changing the tranny filter as well. Thanks in advance. Ged

I'm not familiar with your model specifically.. but historically, the plug at the back on the right side is the diffy. And later units used a combination hyd/rear axle cavity.. though I don't know if yours does or does not.

What trans does that model have?

RickB will know

Has column shift - high & low range. 4 settings in each range. 8 in total.

You have the fill plugs identified. The level plugs will be on the RH side just above the level of the footboard. they are both 1/4" pipe plugs with tapered threads. Likely to be square headed, but may be Allen head plugs, too. DO NOT remove anything with a slotted screw head! The transmission and rear axle are separate sumps.

Thanks for that Rick. There are a number of the pipe allen head screws that could be the ones. This is a British made tractor, so maybe they did things a little back to front etc. The 1st pic shows an outside diameter 1/2 inch allen screw on the LHS above the deck. The 2nd pic shows an outside diameter aprox 6/8 inch allen screw on the RHS just below the deck. It has to be one of these ...? They are both on the gear housing. The last pic shows a cluster of allen head screws on the RHS. Two are 1/2 inch outside diameter and one is aprox 6/8 inch outside diameter. For the back diff oil level? What's that black knob? Of course I'd know more if my long ago ordered manual had turned up. Beginning to think I've done my money there. Cheers, Ged

Photo #2 shows the trans level plug. The flow control in photo #3 should be turned counter clockwise and forgotten. The rear axle level plug is the same size as the trans level plug and screws directly into the rear axle center section housing. It is behind and below the flow control.
