I have misplaced my service manual for this tractor...

It is a 60's model, been sitting inside for over 20 years. Got it running, but low on tranny oil.

It is a manual transmission, and it has a reservoir up front for the loader / backhoe, so I don't think it shares the same fluid as the hydrolics (?)

I am no mechanic... don't know if it has a 'wet clutch' or not.

OOPS hit enter too soon

Anyway, can somebody tell me what oil to add into the trans? 80-90wt? Universal tractor fluid?

PLZ help!

thanks

Mark

I believe tractor fluid meeting the older Ford/NH 134 spec would be the correct fluid. Not hard to find.If transmission only,I doubt using gear lube would be harmful.Kubota UDT or Penzoil Hydra-Trans exceeds that spec.Good Luck.

i'm not familiar with those units.. but if it is a closed sump tranny that doesn't share oil with any other sump.. gear oil should be fine.. that said.. utf oil meeting the M2C134D spec would work as well.. and would probably be what a dealer would reccomend to you..
