Has anyone had problems with the nipple of the tranny cooler where the hoses attact to the cooler? Mine started leaking fluid and New Holland wanted $300.00 plus $80.00 for new hoses. They said the cooler had been changed and the hoses would not attach. I would up having mine re-welded, but there seems to be a problem with this.

I had one break on my old tc40d .The new part was revised and had a metal reinforcemnet washer around the base where the line met the cooler. I would have the parts guy at the dealer look up to see if they have the revised version of the part . And do a parts search for all of the dealers someone should one on the shelf somewhere.
I looked on the NH website they show two different part # for coolers for the TC45d . You will have to match the year and sn for yours. They have a break down for your whole tractor under the parts section for you to look up parts. I would hope they still make the part the tractor isnt that old .

Many people had a problem just as you with coolers made to a substandard design. It seems that the tractors most affected were built in 2003 to 2005, but I wouldn't swear to that. Mine was one of the well-built models and has never shown any signs of leakage.
The smaller Class II tractors have a problem with a coolant line that bursts and leaks, but this is different from our Class III tractors that had a weak adapter nipple on the cooler itself. Your repair by welding will probably last forever. If you search the NH Owning/Operating forum, you can find several instances of folks with HST cooler issues, both from the hose leaks and the cooler leaks.
