Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. The flanges on the top of the transmission frame, where it meets the main frame of the tractor have broken completely off. If it weren't for the bottom flanges, our tractor would have broken in half. It appears that the transmission frame is less than 1/4" thick! The main frame is much thicker. Anyway, the tractor is running at aroun 200hrs and we use it to prep yards for hydroseeding. We use a 6ft york rake and move a lot of top soil with the bucket on the front. Anyone ever heard of this? Our dealer said he has heard of this happening quite often with the 7000 series tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

We had a really long thread on this very subject about a years ago. I think that is was on a 7000 series. The factory came out with a fix for it. You can more than likely find it doing a search.

Will the dealer install it for free??? Man that would be nice!

I don't know, but if your tractor is still under warranty there is a good chance.

As of May this year, no warranty. I've been reading the thread (thanks by the way) and the cub rep claims they are supposed to include the kit with the loader. Makes me wonder why we didn't get the kit since the tractor and loader are only over a year old....

Cub was supposed to have these plates installed on ALL future tractors after 1995 with a Woods loader. Mine didn't have them either. I have them and need to install them on it. Mine will be quite a project as they do not fit with a mid mount mower setup that I have from Woods. Cub should warranty your tractor as they or the dealer screwed up by not installing the mounts when new in the first place. Call your dealer and request a Cub rep to look at your machine. One thing to keep in mind here. Make sure you check your mount and loader bolts. If you read that whole thread on the mounts, you will see that I installed longer bolts in my tractor. I haven't had a loose bolt since. The frame stiffening kit will also help your machine out.

Does anyone have more specific info on the frame stiffening kit or the service bulletin that applies? They're (Jack from Cub) telling me they have never heard of this kit.

HELP!
