Transmission help on yanmar 180 d

what kind of guidance? Where the gears are? overhaul?

It's a conventional geared transmission, not hydrostatic or Yanmar's own PowerShift.

I want to do some discovery, find the problem. I going to purchase repair manual ( if they have one). It appears the main transmission is below tractor seat. The access plate has a I think a hydraulic pump? On top of it. Can I remove plate and pump in one assembly?

Haven't told us what the problem is? There is a repair manual for the 180. The access plate you are talking about is not a pump. It is the 3 point lift assembly including the control valve. It can be removed as one assembly. The hydraulic pump is up on the right front of the engine. The high pressure line from that pump will make its way back to the 3 point control valve.

I have one forward gear in both hi/low. 2nd I think. No reverse . I was pushing snow and working it hard , I was also low on fluid. That's all I know.

So the other gears don't work? Can you shift into the other gears? And if so they don't move the tractor? Need a little more information still.

Is the shift lever stuck, or it feels like it's not connected to anything?

Shift lever not stuck. I took top of shift lever housing and tried to move levers manually but could not. Lever did feel proper and functioning though when shift housing on. U guys are great .
