When pulling my CC2544 out of the garage today, I noticed a "clicking" noise when travelling forward. The click does not happen when going backwards. The sound seems to be coming from the rear right side of the tractor.

Also, I noticed that the tractor rolls forward and backward without having the transmission lever pulled out. You can hear the gears moving when it rolls with or without the lever pulled out.

I have 8 hours on the tractor. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,

My 2544 wont roll easily, but can be pushed without the bypass engaged. Pulling the bypass doesn't really make it any easier to push. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Never did. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I also had some clicking from the right rear axle seal when I first used it this season. I pulled the wheel, cleaned and rubbed some silicone grease onto the axle seal. Noise is gone. I'm still kinda p'd about the hydro bypass deal. The cheezy lever/spring does actuate the button on the bottom of the hydro, but nothing seems to happen. I should take it in, but it would be tough to take the downtime right now.

Thanks for the feedback. So where exactly is this seal you mentioned greasing?

Has anyone had any luck with the transmission lever?

The axle seals are pressed into the cast iron axle housing right where the steel drive axle(s) protrude from the transaxle.
