I am working on a project and plan on mounting an external cooler for a gear box that uses transmission fluid for lubrication. I was going to use some left over 3/8 rubber fuel supply hose laying around to plumb the gear box to the cooler but was told not to b/c trans fluid will eat away at the fuel line hose, causing pieces of rubber to get into my gear box. Is this true? I've never heard of this before. The guy recommended hydraulic lines, but that stuff can get pricey.
