I have an old RZT50. It has ZT2200 transmissions.
Looking at the service manual (available on the Hydrogear web site) , you need to take the transmissions off of the mower and turn them upside down to change the oil via the filler. That seems to be a lot of work for a transmission oil change.
The service manual says that the units are factory sealed and do not need oil changes. I guess that's why there is no simple way to change oil or drain plug on the unit. Nice design...
I wonder about the risk of taking the units off, changing the oil, and putting them back on would risk more problems that it might avoid?
It seems like the low-end Cub mowers are pretty much disposable - use them for a few seasons and replace. You get what you pay for!
