Transmission problem

Mine definitely only runs when the tractor is running...and sometimes not even then hahaha.
Shortly after I first got my Kama, the entire instrument panel did not work for a couple months until I traced it to a loose ground connection at the head lights! So I lost at least 35 - 40 hours on the meter...maybe more? It is also the rpm tach sensor type. That is, it registers less hours when running less than rated rpm in the "green" zone. Because I run the tractor mostly between 1200 to 1700 rpm, in reality, I have many more actual hours on the tractor than the clock says.

Not on mine. Have you checked your wiring?

No, didn't know any different until now! It worked like that since it was new when I bought it. It doesn't bother me though, it appears to keep the hours right - I just double check to make sure I cut the key to the OFF position. One of these days I'm going to re-do some of these harnesses but for now they will do.

Is there a simple inexpensive aftermarket hour meter I could purchase and mount on the tractor?

Sorry ECRob, I don't know for sure, but my guess would be yes. I'd check with an automotive, truck or tractor place. Maybe start with a Napa parts store? Or check online for something that works on your tractor.

Get a Hobbs meter from a place like napa or carquest..
