Could some help me. I have a b7100hsd. I have just purchased this machine, it has a bucket and a fixed backhoe. IT has been fitted with upgraded hydraulics with a pump running off the front PTO. When I go down any sort of hill I loose drive. I have to wait about 30 seconds then it go's again. Any ideas. Thanks:confused2:

Yes I changed the fluid with valvoline hydrotrans, the level is spot on. Thanks

You didn't mention whether this was brand new or new to you so i'm assuming it's used - new to you. I'm not familiar with the B7100, but many tractors have a shared hydraulic sump and that fluid goes to many things. After changing the fluid is it possible that the fluid has gone down by virtue of filling all those other places. If the level was spot on when you filled it, it may not be now. It just sounds like the HST is being starved for fluid from the tractor being pointed downhill and once the fluid drains back to a level that the pump can pick it up then you're good to go. All that being said, I'd check the fluid level again. Also, did you change the hydraulic oil filter and clean the strainer when you changed the fluid?

If it's brand new you should call your dealer.

I too have a B7100hst and have never had the problem you describe when going down steep inclines. I agree you should recheck the fluid level.

Thanks everyone, Problem fixed. This tractor has a separate pump for the backhoe and loader, it runs off the front PTO shaft. Because of this I was having trouble locating the strainer for the transmission. My local Kubota dealer emailed me the parts page and I found it from that. 100% blocked. Now it is clean the trans is perfect. The tractor is early eighty's model.
