I knew about the venturi effect from my Navy firefighting training (foam mixture) and regularly use the effect with my "Vinturi" wine aerator for a 'decanted' glass of wine which truly enhances the flavour.

There is lots of messy raw fuel in the see-through carb in the video. With the addition of air bleeds in the main jet and pilot jet circuits, the fuel will get atomized quite a bit more before it gets to the venturi so it is not as fluid. Good video on the basics and a good interaction between son and dad.
I like the way the son plays "straight man", learning from his father. Aside from the fact he probably had heard it all before while growing up, I suspect that by the time he got his engineering degree he knew more than he lets on.
