Tractor
busted up New Holland TC 24D hydro :(, Replacment NH TC 24D!
Recently our city has had to start a green waste program or the state was going to start fining us. So they entered into agreement with the waste hauler that would provide us with 96-gallon containers! One for green waste, one for paper and one for trash. Well here is the problem; they are way to heavy even when empty. One lady was run over by a hit and run 96 gallon green waste container it was ugly, leaves and stringy ivy littered the road it took over an hour to clean the mess. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

So in an effort to get more seat time, I mean a better and safer way to get the cans down the driveway and backup I came up with a solution. Strap the container to the FEL bucket and use that to get it down. At first I was against the new system but have embraced it since I figured out how to strap the can to the bucket. Now I just move the container where I need it and bingo, no more moving the stuff into the FEL bucket and them into the container. I love seeing my neighbors green with envy when they see me moving those containers on trash day. I must admit, it’s great to own a tractor if you have the means get one, it’s so choice /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That is one awsome trash hauler ! I tow a little dump cart behind my craftsman lawn and garden tractor and fill it up with three 55 gal plastic trash cans. MY neighbors are also green with envy. Have you thought about some kind of a carry all for your three point hitch you could probaobly carry a couple of them at a time. thanks for the picture David

I can carry 2 96-gallon containers strapped to the Bucket. The problem with the cart idea is that I have a steep driveway and the containers tend to get a little top heavy. Also I really do not have lots of smooth ground to turn things around. The last leg of the trip to the street involves a bumpy ride over some mulch. I could never get the cans to stay up after ridding over that stuff.

The wheels on the container are so you don't have to lift it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The bucket and strap work but I think you need a TPH implement with a tounge to grab the bucket (like the trash truck has) so you don't have to get out of the seat /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

By the way what is that strange green material on the ground behind your tractor. I think it's supposed to be brown isn't it ? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm really thinking you need a custom made 3pt implement capable of lifting 3 96-gallon cans. Some sort of a platform with 2 low long sides and 2 tall short sides, you could run one strap over the tops of the cans to keep them from tipping out, the 3pt could carry the whole lot down, leave the platform in place with the cans, then carry the whole lot back up at the end of the day. And think of the fact that you won't have to worry about bending over, or having those cans roll down the hill if the strap lets loose on that front bucket, and think of what would happen to that old lady then. . . I mean just from the liability standpoint it would be worth it to design and fabricate something pretty elaborate to haul those trash cans, and that sounds like a good idea to for me to work on too. Afterall, you never can be too safe! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

ugh yeah, I'll get to work on it ASAP.

Dude they are just trash cans. Is it not bad enough that I use a tractor to move them down the driveway. But you have a good idea. So many ideas so little time.

Can't see the handle on your green trash can.

Someone posted a while back showing using his tooth bar turned up & catching the cans behind their handles. Looked like it was working good for him. You would't have to get off the tractor this way.

But Bob... if he can lift all three bins at the same time, he'd get less seat time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
