Tree fell on garage...

My daughter's house had a massive tree fall across the house during a 0.2 mile tornado [in Silver Spring, MD of all places]. Insurance facilitated lifting the tree off promptly and then covering the roof with tarps. Then the permitting process began, and the architects got involved, and weeks turned into months and the rains came and the whole house sort of warped. So all agreed that it was better to just demolish it and start from scratch. The money side worked out well but they are now in their ninth month of temporary housing.

Keep in mind that despite all those payments made and all if those cuddly tv commercials its the JOB of the adjuster and insurance company to pay as little as possible. Often have to fight for whats fair.

Forget a stupid mobile app. A phone call to the insurance company to ask these very same questions rather than a bunch of random people on TBN

I had an old prefab shed out back when my wife and I moved in. Was 8x12 made out of thin gauge metal with a ply wood floor. Thing was beat up pretty bad. Dropped three different trees on it trying to flatten the thing to disassemble for scrap.

After having to get the truck and drag a 30" round oak off the top of it so I could finish cutting the tree, I gave up on it for a bit. middle son went out there a couple weeks later for some reason. Fought and got the door open, and the bloody thing fell over
