Anyone know if a 4210/420FEL would be strong enough to use a treegetter/Brush Brute/type of implement? I'll probably try a chain w/slip hook this weekend to see how it goes, but thought I'd ask here first.
Been searching/reading posts on the treegetter, and several posted recently by "ns in texas" about his treegetter (posts titled something like "cleaning fence rows are fun now"), as well as posts on the Brush Brute , with a lot of interest. I have a lot of smaller dogwood and pine trees I'd like to clear out. And the idea of pulling them up rather than chainsawing, dragging them, leaving stumps (been there, done that, got the T-Shirt /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif ) is much more attractive. I'm only interested in this for getting the small stuff, 2-3" and less. The bigger stuff I will chain saw and grapple it to the burn pile.
If my tractor will do this, I'm thinking about finding an old JD bucket and make one out of it.
