Decided to plow the snow about 7 o'clock last night instead of waiting until this a.m.

Good thing. Driveway is frozen solid with the little bit left on it this morning.

The lights on the 1025R are tremendous. It has the 2 front head lights but also two very bright lights at the tops of the 2 rear fenders. When going backwards with the back blade, they helped when I positioned the bucket so that the front lights bounced off it. I didn't want to drive forward and risk smashing the snow/sleet down.

Back blade cleared it the best, pushing GOBS of snow, in High Range.

We had around 9" of very heavy stuff.

Those fender lights were one of the reasons I had been gravitating to a 1026R when shopping many years ago. Great location.

If you don't have them, some lights in the rear, permanently aimed back, are great for working in the dark. I have one LED floodlight aimed forward and one aimed back, and both are critical for clearing snow at night, when the need arises. I have the back light aimed low to see implements, but have been thinking about adding another aimed straight back. My front LED is pointed straight, with just a slight tilt down, and it is amazingly effective.

Could you imagine only having headlights on a tractor? With an FEL, they are almost useless in my experience.

My new tractor only has its stock headlights and the first mod I'm going to make when spring comes is to install LED lights to cover the front and back.

I added a light to the rear of my 4300 and have had no problems with the front lights being adequate, however I move snow with a blade on the front. Haven't found the need for more lighting when using the FEL be it with the bucket or the forks. I move wood in the winter at night using the forks on the 3ph.

Look forward to seeing some pics of additional lights and how they are mounted.

I'm just west of Charlottesville and we got about 22 inches a week ago, and another 6 Thursday. My 3038 JD came with just the front headlights, and they are largely blocked by the FEL. Since I have a mile long gravel drive to clear, and the tractor won't easily handle more than 6-8 inches at a time, I have to be prepared to plow at night to keep ahead of a heavy storm. I mounted two LED floods on a 1" by 2" by 4' board and wired them to the regular harness options behind the seat. Then I bungeed the board to the top of the ROPS, and it works perfectly. I can also reach up and pull it around to shine backwards when needed... And then take the whole thing off as soon as winter is over. Works... Cheap... Flexible ... And out of the way.

Where are these "regular harness options" behind the seat?

That is something Im adding to the LS this summer, more lights. Do not know setup yet or how many I can add to factory wiring or if I will be overloading system.

Added lights to my 4300 as well. I thin I have too much. I have pics on here already under another thread if you feel you want to look them up.

On the 3038 there are the wires running to the running lights on the ROPS etc. to the left and just below the driver's seat. There are some dead-end wires there as well with caps or plugs. I found those dead-end wires come on with the headlights so I just found some plugs to fit in my workshop, used some old scrap wire and hooked up the LED floods to that. A friend gave me the LED floods for my birthday. At the season's end I just unplug the wires and replace the original stopper plugs. I assume most JD CUTs and SCUTs are wired the same way.

Yes, I can imagine it!! I never use my tractor at night, so it only has the factory headlights, and one spot light mounted on the fender for the rear. Works good for me lol.
