I am looking for a trencher attachement for my BX 2200. Can anyone tell me what company makes one for this tractor?

Thanks!

I don't want to sound negative, but I don't think the BX are quite enough machine for a trencher. The Kubota trencher requires the larger B series tractors for size and hp. Bradco is the other line of trenchers we carry and none of them would mount to a BX either. Hope this helps.

Equipman,

When you say they won't mount, are you saying they physically won't fit or are you saying there just isn't the HP/weight to handle one?

THKS.

Both physically and from a hp standpoint. We used to have some trenchers that we put on B7100 Kubotas that we fabricated ourselves, but haven't seem any of them for years. I just can't think of any trencher manufacturers that make that small of a unit.

This is probably your best bet. Chinese. It requires at least 21HP at the PTO so use at your own risk /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. It is probably the best price around at $1500. Trencher
Then Glencoe makes this little ditch digger for drainage. My guess is this one would rip the arms off the 3PH /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Glencoe

If you go to the main search page, you can find some threads that dealt with this a year or two ago. The consensus was that a BX doesn't have the physical size nor hp to drive one of the Ditch Witch chain style trenchers, and there are links for several of those in the old posts.

I tried to get info. from the guy at Bolton for my BX2200, but he seemed very disinterested due to my distance from him and the small size of my BX.

Depending on your soil conditions, a small sub-soiler might dig a deep enough trench for something like flexible drip line. Soft soil with not many tough roots could be ok for a 6 inch little trench. Hard dry clay or soil laden with tough roots could be hard going though.

After using both a standalone trencher, and the backhoe on my bx-22, I will never use a trencher again. The soil here is moist clay after you go down about 12", and the trencher kept clogging up with clay. It was awful. I told myself the next time I would use a backhoe. Now I have my own, and it's wonderful! No more clogged trenchers. Backhoe's rule!

Good info Mike. I don't have that experience and was wondering.
Nice to see you posting again.

trenchers are basically good for producing a trench "fast".
Other than that I like the backhoe.
