JD2555 and a few Allis Chalmers and now one Kubota
I have considered something similar, but the ditch I need to dig is up against a bunch of trees so I really can't walk the tractor down both sides of the ditch. Moving the ditch over is not an option.
Nice work!!

I am a cheap SOB so my last trench job was about 70 ft and I dug it with my post hole diggger and shoveled by hand. That bucket would have been handy for the parts I could access with a machine.
Thanks, everyone.
I was surprised at how well it works; but I do have really soft sandy ground.
I went through a lot of small roots, 2 irrigation lines, some clay and gravel, but it was mostly sand. My tractor is 4 tons and 4wd, but the bucket has nowhere near the power of a backhoe; I don't know how it would do on harder soil.
It will dig about 3 1/2' deep.
Here's a few more pics and a video.
