Your statement is problem with the public. Great credit but no cash means people don't know how to save. I find it odd that people will buy a new tractor for 14k and get a loan for 6 years. **** auto loans are going for 6 and 7 years. Meh I don't get it. Seems like a whole lot bad ideas.

Anyway I find it weird you can't move your tractor. But I know when i was looking buying new as opposed to used just wasn't enough off for me to go used. I found this to be true when I purchased my 2014 tundra. Used 4x4 truck pricing is insane. So I went new on that as well.

It really boils down to having the cash . I know too many people who have great credit , but no cash . So a used tractor for $ 9000 is a ok deal , but a new tractor at $ 200 a month is more affordable to them . Then there is the want factor and the need factor . If I just want something I will wait and search out a great deal . If I Need something I generally pay the price then and there .

But I know when i was looking buying new as opposed to used just wasn't enough off for me to go used.
So I went new on that as well.

In 1993, our 1984 Oldsmobile had 168,000 miles on it,, I wanted another car.
I was driving past a used car lot, a 1989 Honda Accord caught my eye,,, nice car.

The used car dealer was FIRM at a price of $14,500,, that seemed close to the price of a new one.
No haggling could get the price down,, it was the only Honda that he had.

I drove to the Honda new car dealer, less than a half mile away,,
sure enough,, the new 1993 Accord was $14,999,,,

I went, picked up the wife, and went back to the dealer, to get the Accord.
I happened to park near an "SE" version, rather than the "EX",,,

The wife wanted the SE,,, the Accord, loaded, leather, Bose stereo,,, EVERYTHING was $16,500.

We got the SE that day, drove it beyond 300,000 miles, without a repair.

Sometimes only new makes sense.

Oh, later, MANY people told me the Honda was a "cult" car with a group following,,,
that kept the price up, when it was under 6-7 years old.

I think tractors under 10K pounds are kind of experiencing a "cult" following,,,
keeping the price of the new ones up,,,

There was a low hours bx 22 with backhoe, front loader and mmm for $10k on Craigslist around here recent.

I waited almost a year on something local to show when I bought mine. Didn't find anything, so I bought new. I was gonna pay cash but the price didn't change, so I financed half. I wish I could have found a decent used one instead........oh well.

Too many hidden cost when you try to sell a package. I wouldn't pay 60% for used implements and probably not for the tractor, but I haven't seen it. List the tractor and implements separately. As already mentioned, a buyer may not need the implements you needed. Or doesn't know it yet.

I could have sold the tractor several times w/o the implements; but, then how do I load an implement to buyer w/o means to load in their truck or trailer. I have deduced that our local market here on SCUTS is depressed by the new tractor buying process as that market is dominated by the small property owner who cannot buy for cash. However implements maintain their value better, well above 50% under new unless they are junk. I have used my tractor 1500 hours over 6 years and that seem to deter the market crowd. They are surprised as they are looking for something with a couple hundred hours for the same price as an older or more used one. Like others have said, why buy used when it is so easy buy new. Best offer I have had for the tractor is $10K, which with the add-ons mine has is almost half the price of a new one.

Decision, I am keeping it for now. A friend will let me store it at his place. Try again in April (rototillng time up here). If we have our new retirement custom house built I may do the landscaping and such before selling.

An engine hoist can be had for not much money, that would let you pick up attachment and set it into their truck or onto their trailer. That is how I unloaded the 7 foot snow blower and 7 foot finish mower that I picked up on Craigslist.
Our big tractor doesn't have a loader and the little tractor didn't have enough capacity or reach to unload them off of the trailer.

Suggestion...take the tractor off the market, sell the implements first, once they're gone, put the tractor back up for sale, by that time, spring will be in the air and you'll have a greater chance of getting the price you're looking for.

I bought a used 05 4320 about 3 months ago and was able to find financing at 4% interest with 20% down for 6 years. Banks are still willing to deal. Local farm credit was around the same interest, 10% down and 60 months. I think I found 3 places fairly easy willing to finance a used tractor. Mine had 830 hours on it.

That seems like a lot of hours on a smaller tractor but in reality that's prob not even 50% of it's life.

I was told by a mechanic friend, that SCUTS AND CUTS diesel tractors have an expected life of around 5000 hours.
The bigger utility and ag tractors are like 10 000 hours.
So yours at below 1000 hours is basically new !
My brother has an old JD 2130, bought new by Dad in 1973, it's close to 9000 original hours and still running very good...planting 250 acres of soybeans with it every spring.
