Exactly, has any one heard from him. Looks like his last post was Jan 23rd 2004. You use to hear from him on a daily basis. Tres, you out there?

I just checked, his last post was the 31st. I think JR was becoming quite annoyed with us in Related Topics. The last few truck related threads that he was a contributor turned into flames, well at least flames in the TBN sense. (Just some little sparks.)

Hope he comes back, since I did the unthinkable and bought myself a Dodge today. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm sure he is on vacation or something...

Trescrows is not the kind to leave without saying goodbye... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I agree with Bill. He's probably away, maybe some automaker felt he was getting too close to something and wanted to "talk" with him /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

No J.R. since 1/31/04 /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Makes me realize just how anonymous we really are here on the internet. If we stop posting, no knows what has happened to us, we just disappear without a trace. Did we get bored, get arrested, suffer a tragedy, forget to pay our ISP? Do we still exist in the eyes of our cyber-friends? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I post, there for I am?

Maybe, I'm getting a little too deep on this subject, or maybe it's getting a little deep around here. I'll let you all decide...after my last post. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

What, Dave, you bought a Dodge! I thought you were convinced the Toyota Tundra would do it all. I think if I was in the market for a truck, the Dodge 2500 with the diesel would be the front runner. While the look of the Dodge comes in 3rd or 4th compared to Ford, GM and Toyota, I must admit, the new and improved internal combustion device is more important to me. I think the Cummins has really done the right thing getting the noise out and putting more power in. But then I have so many other things to think about so my old IDI 7.3 is going to have to do.

You're pretty close about picking a Dodge for the engine, but I went with the HEMI. I drove them all, and the Dodge won easily for me. The Ford was second, and the Titan was third. The biggest problem with the Toyota, other than lack of roominess for a guy my size, was that I would need to spend an extra 6-8 grand beyond the Toyota premium to get the Tundra up to the Dodge performance level. Believe me, I wasn't a Dodge fan until I drove the Hemi. I'm not sure what is wrong with Car & Driver, but the Dodge is much faster than the Titan. The first time I put the pedal to the metal, I left two burnout marks about 30 feet long. Some testing is showing that Dodge is under reporting the horsepower by about 20hp, and I believe it. So, now I have Catbacks ordered, and Ram-air will be next, pushing my truck to about 400hp. Ford Lightning+ perfomance numbers for a whole lot less money, with 4wd to boot. So, I'll be trolling the streets looking for J, and maybe we'll see what he has under the hood of his truck. I just got to find a reason to drive to Kansas. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Rat, just an interesting side note.... an engineer told me that the Cummins diesel is actually less noisy than the competition if you just sat the engines side by side, but Dodge actually took out some of the soundproofing in the truck....and Ford has put more in, so Ford has less noise in the cab. Either the Cummins or the Hemi is music to my ears.

Climb outside and listen to the different diesels. If you want to talk outside beside an older cummins you shut it off or use sign language.

When my 96 is pulling I don't even attempt to turn the radio on. Instead I'm thinking of earplugs.

TresCrows Has had prolonged absences before.

Well, it is like this, I have been on "walkabout". Further, I am now engaged in several time consuming projects. I have for a long time been considering that technology is in fact a curse upon mankind. Someday I may well disappear into the nether regions--but not quiet yet /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif--at least so far I have been able to find my way back.
But, in any event, I have returned from the Dark Side and while my postings will likely be sparse (OK, already---no cheers or clapping for joy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) for the foreseeable future I do not wish for my TBN buddies to ponder my disappearance nor question their own existences /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. So, no worries, all is well and with all my TBN friends as well I hope. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif As has been noted, I am prone to protracted absences and that is the way of things.
No need to carry this thread further, thanks for the concerns, as I said, all is well.
BigDave, how could you?, buy an import brand like Dodge /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif, I am shocked /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
