Trial by fire?

Well the trade off with the purchase of this machine is that there have been alot of jobs I have been telling my wife i needed it for. Time to pay the piper.

This is the stump from a beautiful red maple that someone planted years ago when it was small enough to be a part of their landscaping. Now, it stood about 20 foot tall and was beginning to root under our slab foundation.

Since this is my first TLB, I was in for quite a ride on the backhoe today. With the tree being this close to the house, I was quite nervous about causing damage to the siding. Nonetheless, the stump is out and I'm a little wiser on the fundamentals of stump removal as well as working close to the house with a BH. (Only 2x for those of you wondering how many times I hit the house )

looks like you figured it out! I put a tile right beside the barn and out to a French drain with my BH. I started out slow and worked my way faster. I got a few "dings" in the T1-11 but not bad more of a paint scratch issue only I got it in and was happy. working right NEXT to house/barn/trees can be an issue as you have it in way to deal with.

Nice looking piece of equipment you have there. Nice to see you're gettin' it dirty!

A guy near me trimmed a root ball like that to look lik an octopus standing on the stones next to his pond. He had eight roots as tentacle and trimmed the base of the stump to look like the head. Kinda neat.

Again, NICE tractor!
