Tricks to fix windshield cracks

Any body got any home remidies/tricks/cheats to fix a crack windshield. I'm trying the rubing alcohol,salt, and bug spray but haven't heard good from that. So what have you done.

My windshield is so far cracked it won't hurt to try anything.

And yes I know I should replace it and I probably with eventually but right now the truck is a farm truck. It's a 93 chevy

See if you can find one in the junkyard.

I will but not right now. I don't feel like going through the local which will be a mud pit and can't bring a vehicle back there

Never found a cure / fix / trick to fix a cracked windshield other than replacement. That's what insurance is for. Even with just liability you can add glass coverage for a small fee.

bulls eyes yes, cracks no. remember w/shields are laminate, glass plastic sheet, glass.

Maybe try several of the windshield repair kits at intervals? Am saying that assuming it will not be on the road. That MIGHT hold it together long enough to allow for replacement in near future.

It isn't worth the price to fix a cracked windshield when a new one can be installed for just over $100 for just about any vehicle. I have had WS replaced on Oldsmobiles, Chevy cars, Chevy SUV and Trucks and Jeep for $100 and tax at a shop in Houston Tx. Last one in my 2007 Chevy truck here in Arkadelphia Ark was $149 total. Why pay or file on insurance for so little cost. Definitely don't bother with a junk yard.

It's a farm truck. Take the windshield out and forgetaboutit.

The interior is actually still in pretty decent shape and I wouldn't want to reck everything in the Michigan climate.

But my brother is buying the truck as his first truck so it will be his worry for the price he's getting
