Please help...
I have a 1980's model Belarus 250. Everything has been going great with this tractor until suddenly the rear Hydraulic 3 pt hitch stopped working. I read on another forum that the valve gets stuck on the hydraulic distributor above the pump. This indeed was stuck and I fixed this issue. Now the hydraulic cylinder will lift but will stop as soon as I step on the swing arms. I know this is a self bleeding system, but I bled it anyways and cleaned the hydraulic filter underneath the seat. It appears to have a steady/heavy flow of hydraulic fluid when I take a hose off and start the system. The pump sound and feels like it is engaged when I run the system. The blow out valve is clear. I am at a total lost for ideas now....also, there is minimal leaks in the system, more of a drop every now and then. Please helps so I don't have to spend a fortune to take it somewhere. Thanks!!!
Chris

Run it through its full range several times and see if it improves. Also make sure the hyd reservoir isn't low.

I'm not familiar with the belarus tractors, but it is either going to be a shared sump with the transmission or a seperate sump usually with the fill port at the rear. Also if you have any additional hydraulic functions, test them and see if they function properly. You may be able to find someone with a manual that will tell you more specifics about the sump.

The hydraulic reservoir is right under the seat in the back at the very top of the lift arms. The cap should be painted white. You'll need a small, long neck funnel. Use 30 weight motor oil only, non detergent if possible.

You could have blown the cylinder seals. 15 minute job to rebuild the cylinder once it's off. Parts should be easy to come by a almost any hydraulic shop, and many places online have parts.

Ok thanks Mark. I took the Hydraulic Pump apart and found one of the ball bearings was out of its slot. I think it was making the pump "slip" and not giving it enough power. The engage/disengage handle had too much slack and allowed for the ball bearings to fall out. I have since welded a piece of metal behind the handle to stop the handle from sliding too far back. I took the floorboards off to replace a line (all day job) and need to put everything back before I start it up again. For some reason your post did not go to my email so I had no idea you had commented on my thread. I will check the thread more frequently now. Thanks again and I will let you know how it goes. If I have to replace the cylinder seals I might have some questions for you.
