LS G3038, stihl fs90, stihl ms290, snapper riding mower, Honda gcv160, Yamaha g9 golf cart
So the wife let me splurge a bit at the stihl dealership.

I needed a new weed Wacker with a bit more power, I had an fs 50 I think.

Anyways after reading reviews I got the fs 90r commercial trimmer and pretty much every weed and brush attachment they had, the chopsaw blade is fun. I got 12 bottles of they're oil mix, 2 new chains for my ms290, that I recently brought back to life, a filing kit and spare files.

Then I saw the Honda mower section and had to get a new one because mine doesn't self propel anymore and boggs down and dies anytime it hits thick grass. I decided on the gcv160 to cut around the house when I don't fee like getting the snapper out.

The wife wasn't happy about the price on the register.

Needless to say I've have several 8 hour days since I got them, they both preformed exelently and i m in love with the sound of the 4 mix engine on the Wacker. My wife says I'm trying to make the property look like a golf course.

I'd recommend both of them to anyone looking for QUALITY equipment.

My nearest Stihl dealer is only 1/2 mile stroll down the highway. I have to stay out of there due to the hazard to the bank account. I already own 4 stihl saws, more chains than a pro logger would have, stilh caps, chaps, etc. etc. etc.

That old Honda self propelled if it is truly old could be fixed. My current mower was well used from my computer builder. It broke a drive axle. Ordered a new axle and it was good as new. 5 years or more later and it would not shift. I had a three speed that wasn't really three speeds. I split the transmission and found a plastic part that needed some filing to free up the bind. Now I have three speeds again. The ratchets were not working on the rear wheels. Trip to the store for some new ratchets and I was good to go. Note that all these repairs are on a 20 year old mower and were over the course of my owning it the past 10 years. I also adjusted the valves which gave it a wee bit more power. The valve lash was rather loose.

By the way I have a well used Stihl KM110 from Craigs List. It was bit weak on power. I adjusted its valves and it had a smoother idle and more power. That is one amusing sounding engine, the 4mix.

The old mower has a crack and is loading compression

I have had my Honda and my Snapper welded. My Honda may be getting low on power so some day I may be forced to get something more modern.

Those old Honda mowers where amazing. I bought my first one back somewhere in the early 80s. Used it mowing around my 2 acre place including keeping he 1 acre pasture clipped. Wore the rubber off the drive wheels twice. Used it as a trim mower after I went to a JD ride-on several years ago.

Only parts I ever put on it were the rear tires, a plug and replaced the clutch cable once. Got to the point that it was embarrassing to start as it smoked so much on start up you couldn't even see the mower. Cleared up as sone a load was put on it. Always started "first pull every time" (that was the advertising for it back then and it was true) until it got to where the first start in the spring needed to be set in the sun awhile and then several pulls. Couldn't start it all last sping and haven't played with it since. I do have an almost new (only used a couple times) mothballed if I ever want to use a walk-behind again.

I had a smoker Honda third owner. Did just what you said. When it refused to start one day I fixed the 2nd owner Honda with the three speed.

I've got an fs 90 and that thing can take a real beating. The first 3 months I had it I probably put 3 years worth of use on it and that was back in the summer of 2010. She stihl starts with 1 pull lol. Enjoy it.

I've got a Stihl FS81 Brush cutter that's about 30 years old. I'm trying to wear it out so as to get a nice new shinny one, but it won't die. The OE mix was 1:40 but it runs fine on the newer 1:50 mixes. Now the race will be.....who's going to wear out first...it or me.:D
