Hi All - OMG I love this website! Anways, I've been looking for several months at all different models and makes of tractors. Today, I was driving along minding my own business and "stumbled" upon a 1997 2120. It has 785 hours and comes with a 7309 loader and a Woods 9000 BH. The only problems I see are the hood is dented a little bit, it doesn't come with 3 point arms (due to the backhoe) and the rear tires aren't loaded. After an hour of having the salesman in a headlock we settled on $13,750 out the door (they have all the manuals and original invoice, the unit sold for 32k). When this happened I didn't know anything about these New Hollands, after reading around here and other sources I'm thinking I should have driven it off the lot and left my truck there! Can anyone confirm or deny? That back hoe looks a little tricky to get off, any thoughts? Thanks for ALL the help! See picture for the centerfold.

I don't have an answer for your question, but you mention the rear tires NOT being loaded. I think you'll find that's the normal situation. I'm not sure but the manual may say to not fill the rear tires on a tractor with a backhoe.

I don't know anything about New Hollands, so I'll leave that to those that do.
On the backhoe, I'm wondering why you have no arms? On my subframe bh they do not come off to mount the backhoe. I'd think that might be a PITA?? I say this only because my bh gets removed fairly often and is easy to do and hook up 3pt implements. All I'm saying is to check it out..

You should have had him buy the missing TPH arms and let you buy them at his cost.

On a 2120 you take off the arms since the subframe shares the pins on the rear axle. I've run a 2120 since 1987 and it is one of the best machines that Ford New Holland ever made. I ran loader tires and a backhoe for years until I upgraded to a TN for backhoe work. I still use the 2120 for much 3pt work. I pull all 8 foot heavy duty implements with no issues. The price is very good especially if it is the 12x12 HSS tranny. Dents in hood just show it was worked.

Have one with about the same hours:great tractor. Get the 3pt arms. Don't have Woods hoe have the Ford and my tires are loaded by the dealer. Check the bolts that adjoin the front and rear halves of the tractor; mine have loosened repeatedly. Thats the only problem I've had.

Thanks for all the replies, keep 'em coming! I've been on the phone with them today about the 3 point arms and they are working on it. I guess it is missing 4 pieces and they are $1200 new and $600 used. Obviously I'll never pay that but they must be fairly significant. And the tractor does have the 12 x 12 HSS. I keep you posted on how it shakes out. Thanks again!

You better grab that tractor quick, I see the dealer name and phone number framed by the ROPS LOL! Enjoy your tractor, looks like a keeper for that price. Does the dealer offer a warranty?

Well, just for fun, I googled the name and number on the sign. It turns out that they are not a tractor dealer.

But.. if you look at the google map street view of "639 E Chicago Rd, Coldwater MI" you see that the neighboring business --

Planet Powersports Motorcycle Dealer at 647 E Chicago Rd, Coldwater, MI - Motorcycle USA

Has a few tractors on the front lawn. Better act quick! ;)

What is this, CSI? You guys are good! Actually, I'm going to pass on this tractor. I believe I found a a similar deal (for me, at least) so I went with that. I don't want to say what it is because it's about as far away from New Holland as you can get and I don't want to hear it! First, let me say that they did seem to be an upstanding organization and they did work with me. However, since everyone here is so friendly I would like to share some info that I learned about this tractor. Overall, it did look sound and seemed to be in good working order. It was owned by a well driller who used it to dig water lines and was a trade in. It has a pretty bad dent in the hood and does not include several major components of the three point linkage. I was told that these could be bought for around $300. Assuming that's all it's missing. Also, I learned that in their servicing some of the filters appeared to be original. Not sure which ones or if this is normal but with 900 hours I would think that all filters should have been changed by now. Even with all that, it started up real good and ran smooth. It is a beast of a tractor but just not quite what I was looking for. I didn't drive it but it looked solid. I apologize if me providing this info. rubs anyone the wrong way but this website and everyone on it is extremely helpful and I wanted to do the same. Good luck and keep me posted on it's status! Thanks again!
