As I use kioti I learn something everyday. At 50 hours of time in the seat the only way is up. In a few months or years I might make a good operator. But I don't use it every day sometimes not every week. So I'd like to know if any one knows of Useful/helpful videos with information on using FEL and BH. For instance I got the idea yesterday while making a water bar across a section our mile long switch back driveway that the controls for the BH can be used in such a way as to make repetitive moves to keep some aspect of the work consistent, like the edge of a ditch as it moves diagonally across my road. The rotation of the main boom can create an nice arc with the teeth of the bucket. And I just realized, as often happens when I'm asking questions, I just need to mark the path I want the ditch to take with rocks or whatever to keep the diagonal somewhat consistent. There must be much more stuff in this vein. one learns over time with regular practice. I don't mind acquiring my education that way but it's not productive when I don't run it regularly. Mean while I have lots of road repair to do, so I'd like to be as efficient as possible. I have steep switchbacks that can erode quickly if one of the water bars gets bypassed as sometimes will happen. There is a rise of several hundred feet over the length of the road. I get water coming straight down the steep face of the mesa I live on top of plus the water that accumulates on the several hundred feet of descending roadway. Any help would be appreciated. Hey maybe there is a favorite trick or AHA thread? I'll try a search. There must be some fine points to back dragging that would be very useful. The float setting for the loader was a revelation?.

I case someone doesn't know in native american religion Coyote is known as the trixter. And there are many tales told to illustrate some aspect of desired or undesired behavior.

Most videos will only show you how it is supposed to be done...watch the action on the buckets (hoe or loader)...Nothing will reduce the learning curve more than hands on operating experience...

Good luck...

I pretty much agree with this. You can watch all of the Everything Attachments videos, and get ideas of how things should work, and you will pick up pointers, but hands on experience is worth more than all the videos in the world. Keep in mind a lot of these things like "how do I scoop up materiel more efficiently" are "muscle memory" things, that even if you "know" how to do, unless you practice it, you will never get any better at it.

It didn't take me too long to figure out that the FEL bucket and brush mower swing very wide, but I'm still learning what techniques work best for various tasks after 8 years of practice (with almost 960 hrs on my DK45SC).
