Tractor
kubota l275 power king 14/24 kioti ck27
last week while on this tractor I noticed it was losing power and a little white smoke.... did not notice the temp ... then it died... tried to figure it out and check the radiator and was extremely low.. found some anti freeze to refill it.. poured some in and found out it was coming out of a split by pass hose... ordered a hose form Michigan iron works got it in very short time.. install it today filled radiator up and cranked it up.. a little noise from the engine and white smoke.. still feels like it is not getting enough fuel.. after reving it up the white smoke disappeared .. ok.. should I try some marvel mystery oil in the crankcase and seafoam in the fuel tank.. in the mean time I will be looking for a tractor mechanic.. also I will be looking for any suggestions.. thanks in advance.. c falcon oh it has maybe 500 hrs..

Blown head gasket leaking coolant into a cylinder would cause the white smoke and could of lead to the split bypass hose.

Nope, probably not to the naked eye. Might see some white sludge inside the oil cap. I’d suggest changing the oil and filter asap before running any further. Antifreeze in oil will damage the main bearings etc. White smoke could be unburnt diesel fuel (is the smoke stinky?), or could be steam from antifreeze. Hopefully it’s not a cracked block or head gasket…
Does it start good in the cold, or is it difficult?

Robin.. it does start good after the pre-heat.. smokes a little.. idles about 1100 rpm's but seems throttle repose is slower than normal.. I drove it yesterday day for about 20 minutes and temp didn't get past 145.. thanks for the quick reply.. I am thinking about changing oil/filter and adding marvel mystery oil also.. and a new fuel filter.. it will be a few days before I get back to the property ..

I would use an additive SPECIFICALLY for a diesel. You need lubricant/injector cleaner/cetane boost for diesel fuel. Find the capacity of the tractor tank and then figure out the mix ratio. Double-dose it for the first mix. Change the oil with a diesel C* rating 5w40 or 10w30 or similar….and no funky additives.
Can you work the tractor? Bush hog or blow snow or push dirt/snow for a good hour? Diesels don’t like putt putting around. However keep an eye on oil level, coolant level and exhaust smell. A little black smoke is fine, but grey or white not so much.
