Case IH W14B Articulating Front End Loader w/ Backhoe!
What have I done?!!! I had an air leak in my W14B coming from the pedal valve beneath the brake pedal. The air leak kept the brakes from unlocking. To unlock the brakes you push down on the big flat round Red Brake Release on the console, and when it holds you're good to go! When I hit the brake release it would not hold, and like I dummy I continued to hold it down! (Newbie to all this tractor stuff) So, anyway, after holding it down for about 15 seconds something went bang! So after changing the value out. I started her up. The brake release held, but the tractor wouldn't engage in forward OR reverse. So there it sits. I have the complete service books, but just don't know what I'm looking for. Any help out there? Thank you very much!

First place I would look is the driveline out of the transmission. Are the u-joints ok? Did the bolts on the parking brake shear? Possibly the bolts from flywheel to torque converter or flywheel to engine sheared.

Hmmm.... I would, TT, except that I have about 2' of snow around the dang th'ang right now. LOL! Also, it didn't sound like that kind of bang. It sounded like "AIR." I'm thinking it is an air-controlled gizmo of some type that engages the transmission. Thank you for your thoughts, though. I will keep them in mind for around March/April, though, when I can "maybe" get underneath the dang loader with my (2) 12-ton air jacks! LOL!

You have air brakes and an air parking brake. Where is the parking brake canister? These usually have a air diaphragm and BIG spring. These can go bad/break/ rot. Be careful cause those springs are big and under compression. If the canister is compromised, it can fly out and injure you.

If the diaphragm tore, it won't release the brake.

Thank you for your reply, crashz. It seems to me though, that the brake canister is working and the brakes release. The problem as I see it, is that now, whether I put the transmission in forward, or reverse, it stays in neutral. So, I am thinking there is an air solenoid or other gizmo (Sorry, I'm a newbie to tractors :D ) that is causing something NOT to engage the transmission.
