I am wondering if you can help me out. (It is now raining on my hay! DANG.)

The timing is working good on my baler, but now when the measuring wheel drops and calls for the needles, the needle bar drops about 2 inches and releases the thing that breaks the shear pin on the fly wheel. Is there a way to adjust that?

What brand and model baler is it? From your description of events, the plungerhead safety stops have not retracted. This happens when the retraction springs are shot, missing or broken, or there is a lot of crap, mud, chaff, sticks, stones, mice nests or beer bottles caught up in there. When was the last time you cleaned the thing out and crawled under it to inspect these items? Otherwise, if the plunger stops are secured, its NOT in time.

I've had a lot of hay get rained on in my time. Fluff it up asap and it will be fine. Most of my customers actually like the hay that got the rain on it. They can't tell much of a difference.
