Folks,

My Troy-bilt horse will run for about ten minutes or so fine and then it will start to surge. Here's a video of the behavior. I've noticed a bit of smoke when it does this also. From looking at other posts it looks like it might be a problem with the main jet getting stuck or issues with the carb. And that would be my first thought also. However, the previous owner had just replaced the carb and had all the lines cleaned. So I'm a little lost as to where to look next.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks,
Andy

Go for the "cheap and easy" first, change the fuel filter.

Make sure that your gas tank has a vented cap. Sounds like the vent may be plugged.
