A few years ago, someone posted a link to a website that had a google earth database that would over-lay actual property line boundaries. I thought I had it saved but I can't find it. Anyone remember it, have a link or have another similar one?

Thanks!

Pretty sure if you go to google earth and turn off all the layers, (satellite) and what ever else it should show you what you need.

Google Earth (the application), also allows you to measure areas and distances.

DIY Land Survey - TractorByNet.com

Google Planimeter
This is great! Thanks!

Our property is mostly forest. Of course I know my total acreage and I know how much of that is classified as forest for tax purposes.

A gentleman has rented the irregular open areas for row crops. While trying to determine a fair rent for the open areas, my first idea was to take the total acreage and subtract the forest acreage and other improvements per the tax records. This proved to be quite inaccurate because the the acreage classified as forest has been the same for many years, but the actual forest has increased substantially.

With this tool we can reach an equitable agreement with the renter because we can see and measure the open areas and I'm sure the county tax accessor will eventually reappraise the property.

Here we pay a $.09 per acre forest fire protection tax for land classified as forest in addition to the normal farmland rate.

For those of you in states having US Government surveys, a handy set of tools can be found at:
Tools For Google Earth

As for those of you in the foreign country (the Republic of Texas), sorry, can't help you.
