I bought one of their plows that was specifically for a SCUT. It has a brand name of Tarter when I received it. When I went to install on my tractor the top link would not fit the slot. I had an old one that worked but the one that came with my tractor was to wide. What would be the corrective action you would take? I was thinking of just taking my 4 inch grinder to the ball and take off about an 1/8 and I believe it will fit would that be ok or am I asking for trouble say with my rotary cutter and the same top link.

That's exactly what I do.

You can grind a little material off if you like with out much issue - but the tractors are all designed and built to a governing standard. Not all implement manufacturers follow those standards exactly. If you are not in love with the plow and haven't used it yet I would bring it back and buy a brand that fits.
