Our snowmobile club runs a TS110 with tracks (SurTrac conversion) as a trail groomer. This past season, the high/low range cable broke and we could not shift ranges. Have replaced the cable and we found a new issue. The transmission seems to work fine in the low ranges gears 1 to 8 but we have an issue in the high range.
In the high range we can shift up and down through 1 to 4 without problems. When we shifting into high range gears 5 to 8 the tranny acts strange. Can shift up from 5 to 8 okay but then then the tranny shifts back to 5 by itself. Any ideas on where to look for the problem.
Even if we can fix it, it won't be a problem because we normally only groom in the high range gears 1 to 4. Not enough power to groom in the higher gears when cutting and pulling a heavy load of snow.
