What is the lift capacity of a Iseki TS1610 3 point hitch?

How does that change with the distance of the load from the tractor on a boom lift? I assume it decreases with the distance from the tractor.

I think I exceeded the capacity last night and ended up with a dead weight of 550lbs on the mid point of the boom pole. I was able to lift it at the 45 degree angle of the upper arms but not after I lowered the lift to the lowest position.

I had to be creative to get the dead weight off the boom pole and on to a trailer. Glad no one had a camera close at hand.

Today I had advice to try increasing the engineer rev to increase the pressure in the hydraulic system. Is was running at only idle of 1k-1.2K.

Hi,
Don't know about the TS, but my TU behaves very pedictably when it comes to the 3ph. It is rated at about 800lbs. I have put a crane on the back and have lifted some heavy logs. The pump runs off the engine and is therefore aways pumping. The faster the motor is spinning, the faster the pump is running. I always try to lift at about 1/4 throttle. If this is ok, I know the tractor is comfortable, and therefore I am,too! If it struggles, I up the revs and try again. If it still won't lift it, I shorten the crane boom length and repeat. Both of these options require caution.

If you try to push the hydraulics too hard, a relief valve opens and it just won't budge. I have been told that it is not a good thing to let this valve "do its stuff" for long, as the hydraulic fluid will heat up very quickly, but I have not had experience of this.

One further thing. If the lifting device has a winch, be careful of lifting the crane up, centring the spool valve to hold the crane in position and winching the load up. This puts huge load on the seals in the rams and the connecting pipework and could lead to a (dangerous) failure.

Be aware of this particularly if you lift something right on the maximum and then drive it across rough ground - the bumps will transmit huge dynamic loads on the rams etc.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Chris.

Thanks that is good information.

Especailly the warning on shock loading. I will use a trailer to transport heavy loads and use the lift boom to get the loads onto the trailer.

Glad to be of service.

I did a little internet research since my post and there seems to be a strong suggestion that the pressure relief valve comes into play even when the hydraulics are "locked". Couldn't find anything definitive - some of the descriptions are contradictory.

If it does work, the boom will lower a little each time the max pressure is exceeded, so eventually it might be dragging on the ground. My motto is better safe than sorry (or crushed, or flipped, or rolled or mashed etc, for that matter...).

My view is that it is MY little tractor and I want it to last a long time and abuse is not the answer! I'm sure there are MANY more out here in TractorByNet land who know better than I.

Cheers,

Chris
