Purchased the CountyLine 3-Point Hitch Log Splitter yesterday from TSC and after getting all the lines installed and hooked up to the tractor using quick connections I found the splitter be lacking sufficient power to split even the smallest of logs. Also found that I had to run the tractor at higher RPMs than expected to get minimal splitting power. Any suggestions on how to increase power?

:welcome:
I'm sure someone here on TBN will be able to help if Rod hasn't already. Good luck and be sure to post the outcome and what you did to get there.

Do you have the inside hydraulic lever up at the top, for constant pumping?

At first I ran my splitter off the remote on my TAFE351, an Indian clone of a MF135. Its tipping lever has to be jammed open and the hydro controls fully at the top for the oil to flow. The diverter valve must be in the correct position, as well. Then the splitter runs slowly, though with great power.

I bought my Kubota B7510 HST partly because it has a rear remote which I tie open with a string for this job. The 21 hp 'Bota runs the splitter better than the TAFE. Its hydraulic pump produces double the TAFE's output, and I adjusted the pressure on the remote up to 2500 lb. It uses about half the fuel per hour of the larger TAFE.
