I stopped by a Tractor Supply in SW Fort Worth this afternoon and found some real bargains on various King Kutter implements. In talking to the sales guy, he said that KK was changing their standard TSC color from dark red to yellow .

The manager decided he wanted to move the existing, faded red stock, so he was discounting it. The CarryAlls and Boom Poles were $51, a 6' rotary cutter was marked down $100 to $595, and a perfectly good 5' rotary cutter was marked down $200 to $375! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I wish I still needed a 5' RC. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif At any rate, everyone might keep there eyes open for a similar deal in their neighborhood. I was in my local TSC earlier this week, and didn't see that kind of bargain, but maybe it's coming.

In this area, the TSC equipment made by KK has been yellow for awhile. I bought a boom pole and blade 2 years ago that were red. They changed soon afterward, here.

I have a KK CarryAll, Boom Pole and Rotary Cutter, all red and bought last year or the year before. I saw a few yellow implements here in Texas last year, but this year all the new stuff is yellow.

They must have been dumping the old red stock in Texas. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

edit: just remembered - my boom pole is a Howse. Bought it at a Branson dealer just because he spent so much time with me. Of course, it didn't hurt that it lifts 2x the KK, and he matched the TSC price. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

They used to sell some Wallace manufactured equipment that was red. My boom pole is made by Wallace.

I think I paid less than 200 for it. can't seem to remember now. held up good. but I've bent it slightly fomr MISSUSE by using it to bang aginst some really BIG rocks to Loosen them from the creek bed for removals...

they were oUT of the rotarys, the KK's have been yellow here for a long time. but it is worth a look. you can browse the TSC ads locally with you're zip code from their home page I belive. http://www.tsc.com

Right now in florida, our KK equipment just came in yellow this week at our local TSC store.. I'll have to go see if the red goes on sale.. I would love to have a 6' mower... ( Heck.. I'd love to have an 8' mower.. and a tractor to use it! )

Bill, you are killing me. I used to live in Texas but now that I am in Alaska there are no TSC stores here and the freight to ship this stuff up here obviates any benefit of a sale. I find I need every attachment I have seen so far, just have to be reconciled to one a year maybe.

Do you know which TSC that was in SW Fort Worth? I'm looking for a good deal on a mower right now.

thanks,

Purchased a KK 4ft kutter 3 years ago in west central Illinois and it was yellow. I'm an avid TSC shopper and don't recall anything besides yellow for their implements!

My TSC landscape rake is red. They had a very faded red unit, with some surface rust, and I tried to get a discount by taking it. The manager wouldn't deal, so I chose the shiniest one he had in stock. The faded one was still there, a year later, the last time I was there. It wouldn't bother me if he was stuck with it until it crumbles into the ground.

Don it always amazes me that some of the stores aren't a bit more flexible in a situation such as yours. That faded, rusting implement represents their store dollars sitting on a shelf and until they sell it capital that unusable to them. You were willing to take it for a few dollars less but evidentially they weren't ready to bargain, my guess is that until the store managers attitude changes a bit it will sit and rust further.

Not only is it 'static' capitol.. it is also floating stock.. and they are paying tangible taxes on it..
