TSC Carry All / added wood hauler / flat bed

Got a good price on the TSC Carry All, it looked to be the older more heavy type. Built 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1/4. It had a little rust on it, so I was able to get the manager lady to knock off another 10%... Anyway, I wanted to build my own Carry All, but I couldn't beat the TSC price, my steel guy gives me good prices, but 2 1/2 angle is not cheap... So I just bought it.

I got to thinking that I could build a nice little bed for the back of my tractor to bring wood in on, I normally put my loader forks on and then get a pallet, but I think that this will hold more (when it's finished) and I could also put wood on the front. I figure that the more work I can get done in less time is better...

So, I broke out the old buzz box and got to messing... I hope to finish the deck this weekend, I'm just going to slap on 3/4 plywood. If the weather gets a little warmer I'd like to get some paint on it too... I have it attached to the Carry All with grade 8 bolts and nuts, I'm pretty sure it should hold up okay... I also did it that way since I would remove it from time to time... Enjoy the picctures, even though they kind of suck, it was with my cell phone... I'll have to get better ones.

What are the dimensions??? It appears roughly 5'x6'

If you stack wood on that 2' high, that would be 60 cu ft. 60/128=.46 cord.

That would weigh between 1500 and 2000lbs and a good ways behind the hitch. You may not be able to fill it full. But I still like it.

A little off topic though, you ave the speednet test in your sig, howdid you attach that and how did you manage that high of an upload speed.

I ask because I also have roadrunner turbo with the powerboost yada yada.

I can get over 20Mbps on download but can only manage .4-.5 on upload

That setup was putting too much weight on the front axle, to the point where I almost could not steer...

You are correct, you DID see my speed test link, I just cleaned up my sig when you were looking at it I bet... I wanted to just make it simple... Check out speedtest.net. I have Time Warner Business Cable for internet and we have a pretty phat pipe to my office... I'm sure that is why I'm getting better speed then you. Are pipe is more dedicated then the shared pipe home users get... Either way, we both are better off then, GASP, dial-up

Deffinatally a nice build. With most of the weight toward the front and not stacked you hould be fine, as long as you ahve the loader on. If you take the loader off, and load that up, you may need to steer with the brakes as your front wheels might be airborn

Just odd timing about the speed test thing though. I frequent speedtest.net all the time. I actually ran mine again right after I saw your post. I just didn't know how to post the results as you did.

The dedicated line makes sense, however I am getting about 5Mbps FASTER download speed as you. It is usually between 20-22 for me. What puzzled me was how you were able to get upload speeds 3 times faster than me with the little bit slower download. It is not really an issue when browsing or uploading photos for forums like this due to the size limit, but when I email larger photos of 10 Megapixel camer quality, it takes awhile. Cause .4 Megabit (or 400kbit) is only about 50 k-byte per sec. It takes awhile to upload pics that are like a megabyte each

Hey Max,

What if you used Pin's insted of bolts on the wood floor'ed rack.. and put some extra legs up front..then you could set it down and slide the 3PH attachment out and it could be a Wood Hauler AND wood Stand all in one!

Just trying to make more work for you I guess?

I guess I also failed to mention that we have dedicated upload bandwidth too. It's for our servers, (VPN) so that when we are on the road we can log in and have better speeds, since our servers dish out lots of data we needed a little bit more upload. Most residential users do not require a large upload pipe since most people are just web surfing i.e., downloading data, or stuff like that. I forget what we have now for upload, it's either 2 or 5 Mbit.

I was actually thinking about that, making the bottom longer so that it would slide over the carry all better, but that darn 3 x 2 1/2 x 1/4 is expensive... I'm going to try and get some paint at TSC later today and get it painted then run to Home Depot and get some more 3/4 ply wood... I can't wait to test it out! Thanks for the ideas CowwFace!

HaHa, nice choice! I love my TC34DA, perfect "do-all" size! I like your setup, is that a winch? Good idea... I was thinking about adding a spot for mine, but right now it's bolted to my truck... It's pretty easy to add stuff to these carry all's, gotta like that!
