I've noticed in the last year or so TSC is phasing out the King Kutter brand in favor of some other brand of attachments. Is KK no more at TSC,and if so where is a guy supposed to get parts?I want to get a set (2) of rippers for a 48" KK XB boxblade.Does anybody know if you can still get parts at TSC?

I had a conversation about this exact subject last weekend with two assistant managers at my area TSC. They both told me their new line of impliments, Farm Force, is made by Tarter Gate. The Farm Force name is TSC's "house" brand name. They also told me Tarter Gate and King Kutter were both part of the same corporation, and the Farm Force impliments were actually made by King Kutter, which would explain them being the same color. I assume they knew what they were talking about, so if they are correct.... all will be well when you need parts.

TSC in Houston still carries the KK equipment. I was just at one of the stores last week and saw numerous new KK implements.

I called KK early one morning with a part # from their website and a credit card.......had the part about 4 days later.....

friendly, helpful and quick....no hassle either!

I just picked up a Farm Force boom pole from the local TSC and it appears identical to the King Kutter models. They had a number of other implements there of both brands and other than the decals it's impossible to tell the difference. Right down to the crappy paint...

I bought my KK finish mower from Buchheit's, a local farm store in my area. They have since dropped KK as well, although they do stock a few KK parts, but naturally, not the ones I needed. So, I got on the 'puter, and placed an internet order with KK for what I needed. I had the parts on my doorstep in 3-4 days.

Good service if you ask me... especially since it would have taken 10-14 days if I would have had Buchheit's order the parts for me, and even then, I would have worried that they probably didn't order the right ones. You know how it is these days... if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself... especially when dealing with a retail operation. They just don't train their employees, and the employee's just don't care enough or have enough initiative to educate themselves on the products that the store sells.

OK Guys, thanks for the info......guess i'll get on their site and get the stuff i need.Just as easy to do that and with the way gas prices are it wont be(hopefully)any more for shipping than it would for me to run for it twice.Once to order it and again when it comes in.Thats 80 miles total for me.And most likely they will be the right parts.
OH,in case you are wondering why i only need two rippers.......
My brother gave me a practically new XB 48 KK boxblade. He bought it for his BX Kubota to make a driveway and after that he just wanted it out of his way.The problem is my B26 is wider than 48",and i want the blade to stick out about 2" on each side of my rear tires,so that means extending (cutting & welding in peices) to make this happen.I figure about 4 1/2"-5" on each end,and theres enough space for two more rippers in there easily.
I figure prob about 60-70$ total for two new rippers:confused: but that plus the work is easily worth it seeing as i got it for free.I weld for a living
every day and i'm used to doing this type of stuff.thanks again...digger2
