Can anyone comment on how offset the 48" tiller is?

I just measured mine and it is about 4 inches, which moves the tiller to the right side of the tractor. If you measure from the center of the tractor 28" to the right you will see about where it will till. I should point out that this 48" tiller does not measure 48" from the tips of the tines. As I remember it is about 45". The case is 48".

Daniel, does it cover your tracks, or does it leave some of the left side tire track?

Is it adjustable so I can center it?

It does NOT till out the left tire track. It does till out the right side.

That's unfortunate. How much of the track is left? (I'm @ work and can't measure the tractor until I'm home)

TG-48 is the KKII and is the Yellow Gear Driven tiller.

As far as lifting capacity goes, remember, the tiller is not long, not like a Rotary Cutter where the weight is hanging way back behind the machine.
Most , if not all of the weight is within 16" of the pin. Leverage takes care of 550 lbs , easily.

I've got one of the 48" KKII's on the way for my BX2350 :D

I think it will do just fine, lifting and powering the unit. Dan239 has confirmed this, and I haven't yet heard anyone say the unit was too big or heavy for their tractor.

It looks like KK made the decision to offset the 48" unit so as to guarantee one full side would be covered, so, it may require going back to Point 'A' and resume tilling in the same direction , in order to maintain the overlap and leave no tracks. There may be cases, in a tight space, where it causes problems, but I can't think of a case where it's going to be a show-stopper?

The KKII Gear driven unit looks like a Tank compared to some of the chain drive units out there, which look more like sheet metal in comparison. That is not to say the chain drive units aren't fine machines , they probably do just fine, I only say this as it was one of the facotrs that affected my decision.

Sounds like we might have a 'Tiller Round-Up' here as soon as all the new Tillers arrive.

Congrats to everyone adding to their collection of toys, errr, I mean, "fully justified" equipment ;)

I do not remember how much of the track is left untilled. It has never been a problem with me. I can run in and out of each end of my garden spot so which way I start tilling, I circle around to the same end for the next pass until the last pass puts the left tires at the edge on hard ground.

I was hoping to get something that would allow me to cover my tracks so I could do tree rows without leaving a trace. I'll have to do some measuring tonight. I would imagine if it's offset 4", it's going to leave 4" of tire track.

Wow those look like they are in nice condition, here all the stores have rusted up KK attachments.

To my surprise, there are 10% off tags on the 4 foot variety. That brings the cost down to 900 dollars. They have the black PTO shaft though. I think I'll take my chances.
