The new TSC store will be open for business this Saturday over in Sierra Vista, AZ. I plan on going just to see what they carry, I'm sure I will find something I cannot live without???

I have a TSC less than 3 miles away from me. I tell my wife that I'm going there "to buy bolts" so often that she's convinced I'm having an affair.
Seriously, its easier to buy bolts there because they sell them by weight, no itemizing each washer and fastener.

Everytime I go in a TSC store it appears more like a dime store to me. I buy a little stuff there but wish they were really geared more towards tractors and less towards potato chips and clothes.

In the Medina store cloths would be about 1/8 of the store.

Just curious. What % of TSC sales do you think come from tractor-related items? I am sure that it varies by location, but I would guesstimate it's less than 10% at the stores I visit in the Carolinas.

I have dealt at the local TSC since it was Farm Fleet. Last month Rural King opened a store a few blocks farther down the street. Rural King has a much better selection and most of the prices are better. A big plus is they are open 7 am to 930 pm seven days a week. TSC doesn't open till 8 am. I get off work at 7 am so it is convenient for me.
I enjoy browsing around the TSC stores. You may not find the hardcore tractor dealer inventory - but, they do have a lot of useful items. Recently, I picked up a solar trickle charger for my UTV, Hydraulic UTF, a cool wheel lift for a tandem axle trailer, and a number of odds and ends. I'm glad they're in the community.

A new one opened up a few weeks ago near me. I like them because I can get things like linch pins (and other small tractor stuff) for cheap. Most everything else they have I can get elsewhere for about the same price.

I am not sure how many of you had the old Central Tractors in your area but man I miss then! CT had isles of tractor stuff lots and lots of stuff, I even bought a 134 ford shortblock I had to order it but so!

I suspect the tractor related items are limited as you mention. I had hoped they would have a better selection of tractor related inventory but most of their inventory is similar to Walmart or the other big box stores. I am assuming that the TSC store model works for their shareholders, it just does not work for me.

Lucky you, we lost our TSC a year ago, the land loard would not fix the roof, plumbing and other items, and major Interstate project going on in front of the store. They said they may reopen, elsewere.

We have a new TSC near us in an old Walmart. I like looking around in it but I don't really buy a lot from them. They seem a bit pricey to me on most items. A new Rural King just opened not far from me and my friends say they have a very good selection.

New store always has 10% off your first purchase coupons, but they will give you off every purchase for a long time. Stock up on them, they are in the flyers as you come in the door.

I would love to see a Rural King or Agri Supply somewhere in my area within 50 miles or so. I have several TSC's, and I do frequent them, but when I need an implement, they just don't have much selection. Nor can you rely on any particular item being in stock. I'll order my good stuff from Everything Attachments, even though shipping up's the price a little bit, quality appears to be much better than available at TSC and, their prices are very competitive with local dealers. Plus I can shop online at my convenience.
There are, however, some things that will be lightly used where high quality is not necessary that I wish I could get locally. BUT, my wants/needs usually exceed my wallet contents. So, I have resigned myself to purchasing 1 new major implement per year. (new tractor owner 1 & 1/2 years)
Next on the list is a garden bedder for next Spring. I really like the ETA GB60 but wish they made this high quality, high strength model in 48". Hint, hint to ETA---offer the GB60 in a narrower (48") version. That would offer a better product in this size to your customers for minimal cost increase and prevent me from hooking my fence.

I have heard nothing but good things about Rural King. Unfortunately, they do not have any stores near me. My local store choices are TSC and Southern States, neither of which rates an "A" in my grading scheme.

Two weeks ago I as at a TSC in NC and it seemed like they had more tractor/farm stuff than the closest TSC to me that is in Brunswick Maine. There is a new TSC opening in the next town over from me in 2 weeks. I will be curious to see if they are stocked more like the store in Brunswick or the one in NC.
