Anyone use old tire tubes as patches? I was wondering if this will work. I just replaced a couple tubes... Wondering if I should keep them for patches. Would that work with regular vulcanizing cement?

If you patch your own tubes, what brands seem to do good for you? I mostly see bicycle tube kits. No one seems to market for tractors. Thanks!

I personally have never had any luck using old tubes to patch with. I normally get my patches from the local tire shop I do business with for wholesale price. Often I wind up with an "assortment" of brands and types, but so far so good. I have found there patches to be much better than anything I could buy.

I've used old tubes as patches. You just need to cut it without any square corners and make the cuts so you have a tapered edge. I prefer commercially available patches, but making your own works.

Any reliable brands to recommend for patches and or glue? I'm not a fan of taking my tires off frequently to re-do patches...lol

I'm not sure of the brand but I order mine from All Tire Supply and the smallest tube of glue they have. Quality patches.

Rema is the brand that a lot of tire shops around here use.

When I can get them I use TECH brand. But that requires me to think ahead and order them. I find the glue dries out before I use it so I often get small tubes of it which is much easier done when you can just pop into a store vs buying on-line. I have used some patches/ cement from a company called BlackJack, they seam to work fine.
